What You Will Be Doing As a Battery Systems Engineer, you will own the technical development and maturation of battery requirements and acceptance criteria from early design through production. This role combines electrical troubleshooting, production support, automated test equipment support, product configuration management, and battery performance characterization. The engineer will investigate product and test failures, support manufacturing, organize and maintain product configuration data, execute customer-driven testing, and help characterize battery behavior across time, temperature, and other environmental conditions. The ideal candidate is a curious, practical electrical engineer who enjoys root-cause problem solving and working directly with mature hardware. Previous professional battery experience is highly valuable, but candidates with strong electrical troubleshooting and product-support backgrounds who have a genuine interest in battery behavior and performance are also encouraged to apply. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the ongoing production and lifecycle of a mature aerospace battery product. Create and maintain product structures connecting top-level assemblies, subassemblies, bills of material, and component-level information. Review existing design and configuration data and ensure technical and procurement records are organized and accurate. Investigate failed production and acceptance tests. Troubleshoot electrical hardware, recurring production issues, and nonconformances. Perform root-cause investigations and work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to implement corrective actions. Diagnose problems with automated test equipment and production test systems. Isolate failed test-system components and coordinate repair or replacement to return equipment to service. Plan, execute, and document customer-specific battery testing. Support long-duration and environmental battery characterization. Analyze battery degradation, temperature effects, and changes in performance parameters over time. Maintain engineering records, test results, interface information, BOMs, and production-support documentation. Communicate technical findings, risks, and progress clearly and follow issues through closure. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Approximately 2+ years of relevant professional engineering experience. Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical hardware, test systems, production equipment, or electromechanical products. Strong electrical engineering fundamentals. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, bills of material, assembly structures, test results, and engineering documentation. Demonstrated experience investigating hardware or test failures and identifying root causes. Ability to document findings and support corrective actions. Strong organizational skills and attention to technical detail. Comfortable working directly in a production and hardware-development environment.
